Fishing report!

Week #16 August 26-September 1, 2025

Water temp: 68-72

We had a very solid week of fishing this week! No crazy bite or technique just a steady bite of quality fish all week long!

We are still pulling lead core but it’s getting more challenging with the increase of anglers doing it. The biggest key is finding areas to yourself. Mornings we had spots to ourselves we crushed fish all morning long. There was no depth that was better than the rest this week as we caught quality fish in 19’ as well as 30’+ and every depth in between!

Shad style baits have been the baits of choice. I can’t say one color has worked better than others as we are having to change a few times every day! Mornings have been far better than evenings and it’s not even close! We are seeing an average size of close to 15” and up but the evening seems to be a lot of smaller fish.

I expect things to start changing this week. There is a big cold front coming Tuesday night into Wednesday this week. I think this is going to be the weather change we need to really get the fall bite fired up! There’s even a chance of snow!

Short report this week as it’s the same thing we’ve been doing for a month! Expect a longer report next week, pending this weather changes the bite! I only have about 20 openings left for the rest of the open water season!

September: 7,11,16,18,24,26,28

October is my favorite time of year to fish on Vermilion! Cool weather, no other boats, and lots and lots of walleyes! Give me a call or text (218) 404-9200 and let’s go catch some fish!

As always, tight lines!
