Fire destroys former Elroy Supper Club

On June 6 at approximately 4:37 a.m., 911 received a call from a

passerby who reported seeing flames coming through the roof of the

former Elroy Supper Club, located in the 7200 block of Britt Bypass

which is approximately 10 miles north of Virginia.

The supper club had been renovated into a residence and was believed to

be occupied.

It was reported that the reporting party honked their vehicle horn to

wake the occupants. A male and female occupying the structure were able

to escape the fire without injury.

Several fire departments responded to the fire call.

The incident is under investigation by the St Louis County Sheriff’s

Office and Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office.
