SAINT PAUL, MN: The Minnesota Department of Commerce has reached a settlement with Minnesota Power that will allow ALLETE, the parent company of Minnesota Power, an electric utility serving 145,000 customers in northeastern Minnesota, to transition to new ownership under Global Infrastructure Partners and Canadian Pension Plan Investment Board in a way that protects the public interest.

CO Aaron Larson (Tower) primarily spent time working ATV and boating activity. Time was spent checking local ATV trails and working on boating complaints. Larson fielded calls related to boats adrift on Lake Vermilion, most likely due to the recent weather and rising water levels. He also spent time on equipment maintenance.
New Scam Alert
The Sheriff’s Office has taken numerous calls from citizens reporting a new scam. The scammers are sending invoices via email that claim to be from St. Louis County Planning and Zoning. The invoices demand money be wired to various locations. The Sheriff’s Office has determined these emails and invoices are fraudulent. In addition, St. Louis County WILL NEVER ask that money be wired, sent via gift cards, or paid in any other unorthodox manner.
