Savor a summer fruit salad
Even as summer winds down, there tends to be plenty of time to reap the rewards of backyard gardens and warm-weather entertaining. Refreshing salads are favored at such gatherings, and the interesting pairing of peaches and tomatoes makes the most of these fruits when they’re at their peak. Sweet and savory flavors combine in this recipe for Peachy Tomato Salad courtesy of The Mediterranean Diet Cookbook (Rockridge University Press). This delicious side pairs best with grilled fare..

Help Identifying
There was a black and white group photo on the front page of the Tower News. I cannot say that I can accurately verify the people or location featured in the photograph. However, the garments worn by the persons seem to suggest that they may belong to a religious group. The man in the middle looks like he’s wearing a black coat and some type of cravat? The youths at his side appear to be wearing robes over their shirts and ties. Girls in the front row are wearing the same light-colored uniform, the style of which looks similar to another group photo that I came across when I did a reverse image search on Google.

On Your Mark. Get Lost. Go.
If you genuinely enjoy nature, there’s a good chance you’re finding ways to get out and appreciate it. Television can let you see it, and a good book can let you imagine it, but experiencing it is irreplaceable. Hiking, biking, hunting, fishing, canoeing, berry picking, gardening, camping, or simply sitting under a tree in the yard on a beautiful day are all great ways to get there. Total immersion in nature inspired one of America’s most prestigious authors, Henry David Thoreau’s classic work, Walden which contains a wealth of reflections on the good life and happiness that result.

Question: I heard some talk about a new law of July 1st that allows motorcycles to drive through traffic. Can you explain this as a lot of my friends are talking but I can’t get the same answer from any of them.
