A 50-year-old man was found dead in a yard near the 200 block of 2nd St. North in Virginia on Monday morning, authorities announced.

At approximately 8:00 a.m. local time, the St. Louis County dispatch center received a 911 call reporting an unresponsive person lying in a yard. When Virginia police and fire crews arrived on scene, they located the man and confirmed he had passed away.

Virginia Police Chief Nicole Mattson state there is no indication of foul play at this time. The circumstances surrounding the death remain under investigation. An autopsy has been requested by the medical examiner to determine the official cause. Authorities are working to notify the man’s family.

At present, law enforcement has not released identifying information about the decedent, citing respect for the family and ongoing investigative procedures.
