Big Truck Night in Soudan

The warm fall air in Soudan buzzed with excitement as families gathered for Big Truck Night. Kids’ eyes lit up at the sight of towering trucks, shiny fire engines, and giant loaders lined up for exploring.

Little hands gripped steering wheels while parents snapped photos of smiling faces peeking out from the driver’s seats.

Steven Tekautz kept the crowd happily fueled, manning the grill with a grin as the scent of BBQ’d hot dogs drifted through the park. Every plate came with chips, water, and a cookie—simple but perfect fuel for an evening of fun.

The Minnesota DNR hosted a Smokey the Bear table, reminding visitors that “Only YOU can prevent wildfires.” Kids eagerly picked up stickers and activity sheets, learned how to use a fire water hose.

By the time the sun dipped behind the trees, Soudan’s Big Truck Night had given everyone something to smile about—good food, big rigs, and a community that knows how to come together for a night of pure, family-friendly fun.
