Customer Funds Generated to Support Neighbors Experiencing Hunger

Second Harvest Northland is Named in Super One Foods Round Up Campaign to “Bag Hunger” in NE Minnesota and NW Wisconsin for the Third Year in a Row
Super One Foods has named Second Harvest Northland as its round-up campaign recipient as part of its “Bag Hunger” event throughout NE Minnesota and NW Wisconsin for the third year in a row. Over the past two years, this customer and community-driven effort raised $110,900 and ensured more than 332,000 meals for Northland families, children and seniors.
From Friday, October 17, 2025, through Monday, November 3, 2025, customers at 35 participating Super One Foods and Liquor locations will have the opportunity to join the fight against hunger by donating $1, $3, $5 or rounding up at the checkout. Every dollar donated will allow Second Harvest Northland, the region’s only “food bank,” to provide 3 meals to neighbors experiencing hunger. Serving a 15-county region across 27,845 square miles, Second Harvest supports nearly 70 area food shelves with its nationally and regionally donated and purchased food and grocery product.
Patrick Miner, President of Miner’s Inc., emphasized the company’s dedication to this initiative. “We are proud to partner with Second Harvest Northland as part of our register campaign fundraising efforts this month. This campaign will help provide critical support to further their mission of fighting hunger and caring for our neighbors in need.”
Miner spoke further about the company’s dedication to this initiative saying, “For decades, the Miner family and Super One have maintained a long-standing partnership with Second Harvest. We look forward to continuing this collaboration and joining with our customers during this campaign to support Second Harvest’s mission and strengthen their impact.”
Shaye Moris, President/CEO of Second Harvest Northland added, “This campaign couldn’t come at a better time,” Moris said. “Reductions in federal and state funding and food sources, estimated at nearly 1.3 million meals this year, means that we will
need to purchase food to fill gaps. Already high demand and more recent changes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) are creating a perfect storm for our organization and our neighbors”.
