Fishing with Z

Week #20 September 23-29, 2025. Water temp: 64-67. The last week of the season for reports!!

This week was a very solid week of fishing! We caught fish on jigs, jigging raps, lindy rigs and plastics this week! However you like to fish, you can probably catch walleyes that way!! We are also getting a lot of jumbo perch and crappies mixed in as well!

The fish are very spread out right now. Moving a lot and searching a bunch of different areas is key to putting together some quality bags of fish! 15-30’ is my target depth right now! Because they are so scattered we are fishing all types of stuff. Transitions, break lines, rock, gravel, and deep mud. Find a few fish, catch a couple of them and move on to the next spot. It’s rare to catch a bunch of quality fish off one spot right now.

Jigs with minnows and plastics have produced the most fish for us this week! Lindy rigs are also a good option if they are being finicky and don’t want the bait close to the boat! There is a jigging rap bite but it’s been inconsistent for us. When it’s on, it’s a lot of fun as the fish don’t hesitate at all!

The best fishing of the year is right now. The weather is going to cool down and they are going to go crazy and put the feed bags on!! I have a few openings left for the 2025 season! October 9,10,13,14,15,19,20 Give me a call or text (218) 404-9200 to book a fall trip!! Ice houses are still filling up and a lot of the prime dates are already booked! The 2026 open water books are also open and prime dates are filling fast! Don’t hesitate to reach out and get on the books!

As always, tight lines!
