LVCC to Host Three Events in September

Mark your calendars for these three exciting and varied events to be hosted in September at the Lake Vermilion Cultural Center.

On September 11 beginning at 6:30 pm The Sectionals will once again be performing at St. Mary’s Hall. The Sectionals is a group of eight singers of various ages and backgrounds from around the Iron Range. They are known for performing tight harmonies. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for under 18.

By popular demand and for those who may have missed it in April, the LVCC will be hosting the comic opera, La Serva Padrona on September 14 beginning at 2 pm. This presentation is a Modern English version of the comic opera by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi, revised by Steve Solkela. Tickets are available in advance for $20 on the LVCC website https://vermilionculturalcenter.org or at the door for $25.

On September 23 the LVCC will host its second FINN-Toberfest with Steve Solkela and the Solkela Polkela Band. Brats, hotdogs, chips, dessert and beverages will be served. Doors will open at 5:00 pm. Music will be from 5:30 until 7:30. Dancing is encouraged. A free-will donation will be accepted at the door.

The summer programming at the LVCC is made possible by a grant from the Arrowhead Regional Arts Council. More information will appear in this newspaper as the dates approach.
