World Class jazz Band, Sam Miltich

The Sam Miltich Band will return to Cook on July 16 at Music in the Park from 6 to 8 p.m.. Sam Miltich’s fluid and instinctive sound has graced hundreds of stages, from small town bars on the Iron Range to Lincoln Center. The Miltich family came from the Range and continued building a life near Grand Rapids where Sam is a long-time fixture on the Minnesota and jazz scene. Sam has composed his own music and played regularly at venues throughout the state. He has been featured on TPT’s “Minnesota Original” and NPR’s “Weekend Edition” and performed for Garrison Keillor’s “A Prairie Home Companion”. He also hosted his own radio program “Sam and Friends” which showcased a year of interviews with renown Minnesota jazz musicians for KAXE radio.
Every Wednesday this summer grab a blanket or a lawn chair or sit in your car to hear a different sound of music Enjoy food and refreshments provided by St. Paul’s Lutheran Church from Alango. In case of a rainy evening the concert will be moved to Trinity Lutheran Church, 231 2nd St. S.E..
Sam Miltich appeared in Cook in 2023 with his father and many other times like 2016 with his band ”The Clearwater Hot Club” at the historic Comet Theater . He toured 5 towns in Minnesota in 2018 on a MN Arts Board grant performing “The improvised Life: Exploring Intersections of Mental Health & Creativity Through Jazz” at Trinity Lutheran Church presented by Northwoods Friends of the Arts. Scenic Rivers Health Services sponsored another performance in Cook for health care professionals.
