TRAIN TALES at the Tower Train Depot-Car 81

A very popular event, the first Train Tales earlier this summer had 47 children and adults in attendance!

The Tower/Soudan Historical Society will offer children and adults the second Train Tales storytelling event on July 2 (Wednesday) at 3:00-3:45. Local resident Barb Soderberg will read excerpts from two of the almost 50 books that her daughter Erin has written for children aged preschool to young adult. The two stories Barb has chosen are set in Tower and the local area, which listeners will be sure to recognize. In addition to reading from the books, Barb will talk about how her daughter became an author. If technology permits, Barb may zoom Erin during Train Tales so listeners can see her in person!

Barb will also talk about how those in attendance can also become a writer and every child will receive a journal to take home and write in during the summer. Folks attending will also be able to enjoy home-baked cookies and lemonade after the storytelling, and each child will be able to select a gently-used book to take home with them. The Bookmobile will be in the Civic Center Parking lot afterward and the Train Depot Museum will be open during that time.

This event is free and open to the public.

The TSHS welcomes the donation of any gently used books to pass out to the children after Train Tales. Please leave them at the Train Depot Museum Friday-Monday 10 am-5 pm when the Museum is open.
