Fishing report!Week #4 6/2-6/9
Water temp: 64-68 up to 70 some days
We had probably the best week of fishing I’ve ever seen on The Big V! Bobbers down all day long!
This week we focused on the rock bobber bite! Floating a slip bobber with a leech over wind blown rock in 3-18’ produced non stop action! Each spot is different, wind blown points in the evening we fish much shallower than a rock pile at high noon.
The biggest key for us is moving early and often. If we went 10 minutes without a fish we were moving! Some spots we could fill limits and get our slots and overs, but most spots it’s 3-5 fish and that’s all. Another key for us was fishing new spots. Studying a contour map and finding spots nobody else thinks about fishing…easier said than done right now since everyone is on the rock bite! But if you can find fish that haven’t been thrown at before it’s pretty easy pickings some times.
This week’s report is short and simple. When it comes to bobber fishing I like the saying KISS, keep it simple stupid. It’s a bobber and leech, don’t over complicate things and go catch some fish and have a great time! It’s really hard to beat bobbers going down all morning long!
I have very limited openings left in June! If you want a June date, call or text asap and I’ll give you availability. Otherwise, I’m starting to book into July and August leadcore and shore lunch combo trips are starting to book up daily! If you want to get out give me a call or text anytime (218) 404-9200! Availability is becoming very limited for June so don’t hesitate to reach out. East or west end of Vermilion, mornings and evenings open. The evening bite this time of year is fantastic!
As always, tight lines!
