On May 18th, 2025, at 8:27pm, the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported ATV crash, with injured riders. The crash occurred on the ATV trail, southeast of Elephant Lake. Elephant Lake is located approximately 10 miles northeast of Orr, MN.

The side-by-side style ATV, flipped over why navigating trail conditions. The passenger, a Pine City, MN resident, received multiple injuries and was subsequently transported by ambulance, to a nearby hospital. Both the driver and passenger are visiting the area on vacation.

The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind people to wear proper safety equipment and operate ATVs within their capabilities as ATV can be dangerous to operate.
